WILDAIRE BUTTERFLY KISSES

APRIL 1997-NOVEMBER 2004

Blossom was always referred to as an angel, now this beautiful girl has her wings. She was the first dog people noticed in our house. She wasn’t a part of the crowd but, she was loved by many. May God hold you in the palm of his hand and angels watch over you.

 WILD ABOUT LIFE’S LIL MIRACLE

 SEPTEMBER 2004-JUNE 2005

Lil Syd was lost way to young and so unexpectedly. His little spirit now runs free in a place where he is surrounded with blue skies and green fields. Run and play Lil Syd until we meet again.

OCTOBER 2001-DECEMBER 2005

Desi is owned and loved by Ginny and Elizabeth Reuter. She is shown doing what she likes best, can't you see her smiling?   Desi touched our lives in many different ways and we are all thankful for the time we were allowed to love her. Desi had a litter of puppies in June, she will live on in their every breath as well as in the hearts and souls of all who loved her. Beside us in every breeze you will be. We will cherish the memory of your beauty, grace and elegance until we meet again. God Speed little Desi.

WILLABE WONDERFUL TONIGHT

JUNE 1993-DECEMBER 2005

The years went way to fast and our beautiful little adventurous pup was aging before our eyes. Haley was given to us for a purpose and that purpose has been fulfilled. She taught us how deeply we could love a little girl called a whippet. Whippet such a simple word, but oh how this word has brought so much love and joy to our lives and this all started with our precious Haley. Haley went to sleep on December 26 and woke up at the Rainbow Bridge, where her daughter Blossom was waiting to play and snuggle with Mom again.  Haley being our first has left such a tremendous legacy of love and comfort through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The gray is gone, you walk now without pain, you are young again, run and be free in the distant land of blue skies and rainbows.

Haley girl, you will live in our hearts forever.
Loved by: Charlene and Pat Byrum

MICKEY

DECEMBER 2, 1995-JUNE 11, 2006

When we began in the wonderful world of whippets, we had no idea of the incredible joys and sorrows that lay ahead. Mickey was a once in lifetime dog. He came from our first litter, he was our first show champion. He was an unbelievable courser. He achieved his LCM II with limited coursing. He was first in his obedience class and although he only did agility for a short time, he was wonderful at it also. He did everything we asked with enthusiasm and the heart to please. He loved to rest in front of the fire place on cold days and he watched the squirrels and chipmunks run in the back yard on warm days. Mickey has changed our lives forever. Because of Mickey and his love for coursing we have met so many wonderful special friends who also grieve with us on his passing. Mickey left a legacy of his own. His Son Rockne keeps his place on the sofa warm. Another Son Fonzie is a therapy dog in a nursing home. Then there is Chance he looks the most like his Dad, he as the same beautiful
expression and the love for coursing and he too is a show champion and will carry on for his Dad now.

Mickey was blessed with a passion for running, an incredible heart and gentle soul. He was and is our pride and joy. I heard it said once "pain can only be felt when the heart's been touched." Mickey touched our hearts and he will be with us always.

WILDAIRE VESTED FAITH

NOVEMBER 2003-FEBRUARY 2007

Faith lived to run and play and love Melody.  They were meant to be together from the very beginning. What joy they brought to one another.  Faith had her first win in the show ring shortly before she became ill.  She was taken away too soon, but that short time she had, brought so many wonderful memories.  Those special times can never be taken away.  Faith was sick for many months; Melody was in anguish watching her precious Faith slip away.  Saying good-by and loving enough to let go is the hardest part of all.  Faith has now been given her wings; she flew away from the pain and uncertainty which had become her life.  Rest peacefully our precious little girl.  Faith was a special blessing and now she is in the hands of God.

Loved and missed by Melody Jones and friends

Her Journey's Just Begun
by Ellen Brenneman

Don't think of her as gone away-her journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets, this earth is only one.

Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of
warmth and comfort where there are no days and years.

Think how she must be wishing that we could know today, how nothing
but our sadness can really pass away.

And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched.
For nothing loved is ever lost-and she was loved so much.

WILDAIRE HALEY'S INDIANA GIRL

DECEMBER 1995-NOVEMBER 2008

Indy lost her long struggle just short of her 13th birthday.  She fought so hard for so long. Her family and her vet and all the friends who loved her, couldn't believe the fight this beautiful little girl waged against a body that was failing her. She had such a will to live. Indy knew how much she was loved and just didn't want to leave her Mom and Dad. What would they do without her? She must have known how heartbroken they would be when she finally had to say good bye. Time and time again when they thought the end was near, this little girl would bounce back and let them know it just wasn't time yet. She just wasn't  ready to leave her loving home and the rest of the whippets that made up her family.

                                                                                                     .

In her younger days Indy was very athletic, she liked nothing better than running and she was a joy to watch on the coursing field. The timeless beauty of Ms. Indy will live on forever.
Indy is now playing in the beautiful meadows at the Rainbow Bridge. She is there with her brothers who were waiting to greet her, Breezer, Devo and Hudson. They run and play and once in awhile they turn and look back, as they watch and wait for the others to jointhem and some day Mom and Dad will walk over the bridge and they will all be together again.

We love you our little Indy Girl.

IN MEMORY OF EMMO

Emmo went to live with Steve Kuntz on 11-20-05. I believe this to be the beginning for Emmo. The three short years Emmo was with Steve I am sure were the happiest years of his life. Emmo was eleven, almost twelve when he came into rescue and I thought most likely he would spend his last years with us. Not long after we were lucky enough to meet Emmo, I got a call from Jeanne Kuntz. She was worried about Steve they had just lost a few weeks earlier their beloved Dolly. Steve was grieving and just couldn't seem to get over the loss. I told Jeanne that the only dog I had in rescue was Emmo and he was old and after just losing a dog they loved so much he might not be the right dog. When Steve came to visit his great ability to love over came his grieve and pain and he decided to welcome Emmo into his home.

Within a couple of months of Steve taking Emmo home, Emmo started into kidney failure. I have no doubt most dogs would never have lived as long as Emmo without the devotion and determination on the part of Steve to keep him as comfortable as possible. Dialysis became a part of Steve and Emmo's morning routine. Making sure Emmo had exercise, Steve and Emmo took daily walks when the weather allowed.

A few months later Thistle joined the family. I went to visit Steve's home and found two very happy whippets and a beaming Steve when he talked about his wonderful whippets. Emmo had such a loving nature and such special ways. Emmo had to wait until he was in his senior years to get the loving family he so much deserved, but I could see in his eyes the wait was worth it. He was finally in a home where he was loved and cherished the way he should have been all his life. Emmo is gone from this world, but he lives in the hearts of those who love him. Our sweet Emmo will never be forgotten.

Loved By, Steve, Jeanne and Thistle
